Speaking at a planned filming day with the 2025 car at Silverstone on his first day on the job, Mekies paid tribute to his predecessor and admitted it felt odd to be at Red Bull without Horner there.

Laurent Mekies, the boss of sister team Racing Bulls, will replace Horner, who has been with the team since its inception in 2005 and led it to 124 wins and numerous championships.

Former Red Bull Racing CEO and team principal Christian Horner has responded to his sudden ousting from the team. Horner served the outfit for 20 years since 2005, and was said to have a contract lasting until 2030.
