Liverpool have been dragged into the transfer discussion around Florian Wirtz, Manchester City and Bayern Munich

Liverpool have held talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz, according to reports in Germany. The 22-year-old has been one of Leverkusen’s standout players with 21 goals and 23 assists over the last two Bundesliga campaigns.

As Manchester City gear up for this weekend's FA Cup final, they have also had a busy day off the pitch ahead of the summer transfer window opening. City travel to Wembley Stadium on Saturday to take on Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final as they look to end the season with some silverware.

Liverpool reportedly met with Florian Wirtz and his family earlier this week to pitch the player a summer move to Anfield. Manchester City and Bayern Munich have also been heavily linked with the German international, who has racked up 22 goal contributions in 30 Bundesliga games this season.

The report also states City’s pursuit Reijnders is independent of interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz as the plan is to recruit a number eight and at least one number 10 in the summer to cope with the departure of Kevin De Bruyne.
