Google is phasing out Assistant for Gemini, and we've spotted changes coming to Android Auto signaling the imminent.
Ahead of Gemini's car debut in the near future, Google has removed some mentions of Assistant in the latest Android Auto 14.8 update.
Google is replacing Google Assistant with Gemini on Wear OS, offering more natural and conversational queries and access to Gemini apps/extensions.
The Gemini logo that appears next to the "Just a sec..." text when Gemini is forming a response retains its inner blue and purple hue, albeit with a new multi-colored outer glow that's consistent with the overall refresh. The Gemini logo on the "Switch to Gemini" boarding screen also dons the new look.
