A Virginia lawmaker is co-sponsoring a bill in the U.S. Senate that seeks to raise the minimum age to purchase firearms identified as assault weapons. U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, D-Va., joined 17 other Democratic Senators and one independent lawmaker this week in introducing the Age 21 Act in the Republican-controlled U.

Colorado's Senate passed SB25-003 to enforce the state's high-capacity magazine ban and restrict firearms with detachable magazines and rate-increasing accessories.

The two measures now head to the House, where both already have sufficient support to clear the chamber and head for Gov. Jared Polis’ desk.
