An immigration raid on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket on Tuesday resulted in 40 arrests, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE said that the people arrested on the Massachusetts islands included a gang member and a sex offender.

ICE officials said some that of the detainees had criminal histories, but did not provide their names or detailed information.

The sweeping ICE enforcement action offered the starkest reminder yet that in every part of Massachusetts, as temperatures climb, this is shaping up to be another season of Trump.
