A funeral service will be held later this week for the Pennsylvania police officer fatally shot while responding to a hospital intensive care unit where a gunman had shot three workers and taken

Andrew Duarte spent more than six years as a police officer and just recently celebrated his 30th birthday before his life was taken in the UPMC Memorial Hospital shooting.

Channel 11 is also learning more about Andrew Duarte, the West York Borough Police Department officer killed in the shootout, who has ties to the Pittsburgh area.
