The US Department of Health and Human Services, under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has recently made significant changes to how Covid-19 vaccines are approved and the groups they are recommended for.

On May 29, the Centers for Disease Control updated its childhood immunization schedule to say that healthy kids between the ages of 6 months and 17 years “may receive” COVID vaccines “informed by the clinical judgment of a healthcare provider and personal preference and circumstances.

As promised, federal health officials this week dropped longstanding recommendations that healthy children and healthy pregnant women should get the COVID-19 vaccines.
