Legacy this season will field two full-time cars, the No. 43 Toyota for Erik Jones — two top-fives in two seasons with the team and a finish of 28th in the Cup Series standings — and the No. 42 Toyota for John Hunter Nemechek. Neither driver made the playoffs.

Jimmie Johnson — one of the titans of NASCAR — is back at one of racing’s grandest stages. Nexstar’s FOX8’s Kevin Connolly and Danny Harnden and WFLA’s JB Biunno spent Wednesday afternoon catching up with drivers as they get ready to hit the speedway this Sunday for the Daytona 500.

Johnson won 83 NASCAR races and a record-equaling seven season championships during 19 seasons as a full-time NASCAR driver. Since he last competed as a regular in 2020, Johnson spent two seasons driving on the IndyCar tour before becoming part of the Legacy Motor Club ownership team in 2023.
