Tim Curry, the English actor who became a massively popular cult figure thanks to his performances in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Clue" and the TV miniseries "It," has died.

Then Tim Curry stepped onto the screen and carried us all into another dimension, a sparkly realm where fishnets and red lipstick ruled the night.

Known for his arch humor, a putty-like face and gift with voices, Curry earned three Tony nominations -- for "Spamalot," "My Favorite Year" and "Amadeus" -- and an Emmy nod in 1994.
