Zak Starkey gave insight into his status with The Who in an update posted on Monday, May 26. The drummer had previously announced that he was parting ways with the band in April, only for Pete Townshend to say that he was not leaving the band days later.

Zak Starkey expanded on his departure from the Who, explaining Roger Daltrey says the drummer was "retired" rather than "fired."

And going forward, The Who’s new drummer is now, definitely, Scott Devours, a 58 year old American who has served behind the kit for Roger Daltrey’s solo band since 2009. This summer's concert calendar is shaping up to be a strong one, even as change comes to several Jacksonville music venues.
