As normal classroom learning has been curtailed as a result of COVID-19 lockdowns, Google Classroom has seen a surge of downloads on the Google Play Store.

The Google Classroom app for Android has passed 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store admist the coronavirus pandemic.

Part of this was through Google Classroom, an app which Google put out as a means for teachers and students to interact with each other while staying on top of coursework and other education tools.
