Before Ryan Coogler’s Sinners was released into the world, he was not thinking of it as the start of a franchise. In an interview published three days prior to the film’s release, the writer and director made that abundantly clear.

Ryan Coogler revealed his original plan was for Sinners to be one-off, X agrees and applauds the fact a sequel is not in the works.

Ryan Coogler has no plans for a Sinners sequel, which is by design. In a resurfaced interview posted before the Michael B. Jordan-starring film was released in theaters, the filmmaker said he thought of Sinners as a “full meal.”
