Israel's cabinet approved a ceasefire deal with Hamas, involving the release of hostages in Gaza. The agreement, effective Sunday, includes a phased exchange of hostages and prisoners.

Egypt has called on Israel and Hamas to implement the Gaza ceasefire plan “without any delay.” This is raising pressure on the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to accept the deal. Israeli has not formerly accepted the ceasefire and hostage release deal which was announced on Wednesday.
