A Gallup poll published this month shows that fewer Americans than in June 2024 back strict border enforcement measures and more now favor offering undocumented immigrants living in the country pathways to citizenship.

During an immigration raid on Thursday, a worker fell from a greenhouse at a cannabis farm. A farmworkers union had initially said the worker died on Friday, but a lawyer for the family said the death occurred Saturday afternoon.

“While (Homeland Security Investigations) respects the public’s right to peacefully express disagreement with immigration enforcement, physical assaults on federal officers and interference with lawful operations will not be tolerated,” ICE said a day after the arrests.
