The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says it has opened a criminal investigation into rape and sexual assault allegations against Motown music luminary Smokey Robinson.

More than a week after four women alleged Smokey Robinson had sexually abused them for years, the LA County Sheriff’s Department has opened a case.

The Motown legend, who was accused in a lawsuit earlier this month of sexually assaulting four former housekeepers, is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
