“Conclave” and “Emilia Pérez” lead this year’s BAFTA Film Awards nominations, heading up a diverse mix of talent and titles in a competition where, for the first time in years, there’s no clear favorite in any of the major categories.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominations for its 2025 film awards on Wednesday. Here's the full list.

“Emilia Pérez” first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize. It then hit theaters on Nov. 1, before it went to streaming just a few weeks later on Nov. 13. Yes, it is. You can watch it right now on Netflix. It’s a Netflix original film.

Anora, The Brutalist, Conclave and Emilia Perez also scored best director nominations this morning for Sean Baker, Brady Corbet, Edward Berger and Jacques Audiard. They are joined in the category by Dune: Part Two director Denis Villeneuve and The Substance filmmaker Carolie Fargeat.

It is the first BAFTA nomination for Corbet, who is also nominated, alongside his partner Mona Fastvold, for best original screenplay. Brody, Pearce and Jones have picked up noms in the acting categories,

The nominations for the 2025 Bafta awards will be announced today (15 January) at 12pm with major titles like Emilia Perez and The Brutalist expected to be amongst the films with the most nominations.
