Gabriel Arias hit a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning and doubled in the ninth on a night when San Francisco celebrated new slugger Rafael Devers at every chance, and the Cleveland Guardians spoiled the fun by beating the Giants 3-2.

Batting third and as the designated hitter, Rafael Devers was 2 for 5 with an RBI and two strikeouts in his first game with San Francisco.

They saw plenty of Devers as he singled, doubled, struck out twice and grounded out. They also caught an eyeful of a desperate Guardians team that did a little bit of this and a little bit of that to come away with a tense 3-2 victory.
