A massive oil spill in the Baltimore Harbor that began Wednesday has now dumped 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel into the harbor, more than doubling the amount initially reported.

A 2,000-gallon diesel spill from tanks on the Johns Hopkins Hospital campus in East Baltimore that contaminated a portion of the Baltimore harbor had been contained as of Thursday morning, officials say.

At least 2,000 gallons of oil have spilled into the Baltimore Harbor as cleanup efforts are currently underway, officials said.
