The high-profile Karen Read trial is back in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts on Thursday for a 16th day of witness testimony. The day began with a Massachusetts State Police forensic scientist back on the stand to finish her testimony about evidence processing.

Karen Read's defense team says she was framed for the murder of her Boston police officer boyfriend in an elaborate conspiracy.

Maureen Hartnett, a state crime lab analyst, testified that she found a hair and pieces of glass on Read's SUV.

Jurors also heard from two people — Ryan Nagel and Heather Maxon — who arrived at 34 Fairview Road in Canton, where O‘Keefe’s unresponsive body was found, at the same time as Read and O‘Keefe did shortly after midnight on Jan. 29, 2022.

The case out of Dedham, Massachusetts, has turned into a yearslong whodunnit legal saga that has captivated true-crime fans across the country.

Dr. Irini Scordi-Bello had ruled the cause of death to be blunt head trauma and hypothermia but said the manner of death was undetermined.
