Cole Hutson was one of four Boston University goal scorers, netting the winner in the second period of the Terriers' 4-1 victory over rival and top-ranked Boston College in the final of the annual Beanpot college hockey tournament on Monday at TD Garden.

The Terriers advanced to the championship game for the 57th time when they took down the Harvard Crimson 7-1 in the semifinals. Boston University is 31-25 in Beanpot finals. This will be the 23rd time the two rivals have met in the Beanpot Final. BU is 12-10 in championship games against the team from Chestnut Hill.

Fowler won three games when the U.S. team captured the gold medal in the 2024 IIHF Junior World Championships and was a third-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2023 NHL SuperDraft. Fowler is at his best in the biggest arenas under the brightest lights.

Boston College and Boston University have not met in the Beanpot Final since 2016. But on Monday night at the Garden, the two Commonwealth Avenue archrivals decided to do something about that.
