The high-profile Karen Read trial was back in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts on Thursday for a 16th day of witness testimony. The day began with a Massachusetts State Police forensic scientist back on the stand to finish her testimony about evidence processing.

The forensic scientist will continue her testimony under cross-examination when the trial resumes at 9 a.m. Thursday. Read, 45, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of O’Keefe, who was found outside the home of a fellow Boston police officer on Jan. 29, 2022.

Dr. Irini Scordi-Bello had ruled the cause of death to be blunt head trauma and hypothermia but said the manner of death was undetermined.
