Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz has seemingly turned down Bayern Munich in favor of a switch to Premier League champion Liverpool.

Völler thinks staying with Leverkusen would have been the better option for Wirtz as opposed to going to Liverpool or Bayern Munich.

Talks with Liverpool manager Arne Slot are believed to have swayed Wirtz, who is now hopeful of continuing his career under the Dutchman. However, despite a personal agreement with Wirtz, the finances involved in such a deal means there is still plenty of work to do.
