Longview’s Haynes King, Rusk’s Owen McCown named to Maxwell Award watch list
Former Longview Lobo and current Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King and former Rusk Eagle and current UTSA quarterback Owen McCown were named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football.
Devon Dampier, Utah's junior QB, is on the watchlist for the Maxwell Award, signifying a strong start at Utah.
The redshirt junior tallied the second-longest made field goal (60 yards) in Hokies history last year against Minnesota in the Duke's Mayo Bowl.
