U.S. Steel on Tuesday sued a Canadian steel company alleging that it is refusing to pay for millions of tons of iron ore pellets it agreed to purchase five years ago because of new Trump administration tariffs.
The Trump administration blocked U.S. Steel's plan to shut down production at one of its plants in Illinois, flexing its so-called golden share authority, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
