TikTok is still three days away from a likely ban in the United States, but many users are already bidding the app farewell and seeking out alternatives.

The social media app Xiaohongshu, literally “Little Red Book” but often called RedNote, has seen a sudden influx in American users as a TikTok ban looms.

The ban results from an April law signed by President Joe Biden and is the first time the United States has attempted to shut down access to an app with such a large user base - roughly 170 million domestic users.
