Mumps is a viral infection that usually starts with fever, headache, muscle aches, and fatigue, followed by painful swelling of the salivary glands near the jaw. While many cases are mild, adolescents and adults are at higher risk for complications like orchitis, oophoritis, meningitis, pancreatitis, and rarely hearing loss. Come prep an adult MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine with me. MMR is a live attenuated vaccine so it has to be kept at a certain temperature to keep it viable and it’s mixed with sterile dilute right before injection. It’s injected intramuscular into the deltoid with the needle at 90°. Also perform hand hygiene upon entering and leaving the room and I’m always gloves when administering injections. This is not a tutorial just a demonstration. #aliyahtianna #medicaltiktok #medicalassistant
