🍎 It’s apple season, and that means big preserving days in the kitchen! Yesterday, we brought in about three bushels of apples, and with just one tool (the steam juicer), we turned them into apple cider, applesauce, and even bacon (pig feed!). This is one of my favorite methods because it saves so much time and nothing goes to waste (even the leftover pulp gets put to good use!). Before you run away… I know homesteading is trending right now. Everyone’s moving out of the city and grabbing up land. They’re getting all the animals, starting a farm, and end up getting burnt out in a couple years. So what if you want to join the homestead movement, but you can’t just up and move?
