Confederate mass grave and monument in Fairview Cemetery c. 1881. Culpeper, Virginia. This monument is a memorial to Confederates fallen in battle or to disease who were originally buried on U.S. Revolutionary Army Colonel John Jameson's property in Culpeper. The statue stands upon the mass grave of these soldiers who were reinterred here in 1881. The soldiers names and states in which they served are listed on bronze plaques on each side of the memorial.
